Music can be an important part of narcissistic abuse recovery for many people people. When we experience trauma it is stored in our body, so it’s not just the music that helps, it’s that it can get you moving your body.

An excellent book, though it is very scientific and can be harrowing and difficult at times. However if you want to understand how trauma impacts the brain and why the symptoms you are experiencing are very normal, this will help. It also guides you with the practical, evidence-based ways you can support your own healing.
This is an excellent overview of attachment, which is an important part of the jigsaw when understanding recovery from narcissistic abuse. Written by a psychiatrist and a psychologist, it has a particular focus on romantic relationships, so it’s of most use if you have been romantically involved with a narcissist, however the principles still apply, whatever the relationship.
