How I work with clients
I understand your time is precious and I offer you highly professional, discrete and confidential psychological support to help you move past your issues and enjoy your success, as quickly as possible.
You should know that I work with people who are motivated to change and keen to learn. I’m probably not the right psychotherapist for you if you are just looking for someone to listen talk through your problems with.
Each client I work with is unique. I offer calm, warm, compassionate and collaborative support to every client and I take care and time to tailor a personalised therapeutic approach for each person I work. It is a real privilege to work with my clients and support them in the best way possible. Therapy with me is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach and I ensure I do not take on too many clients so I can give each person I work with the time, care and attention they need. This means you may have a wait to see me and I am likely not the right psychologist for you if you need crisis counselling.
I work with many of my clients online, or if you prefer you can visit me in my consulting rooms in Wilmslow, Alderley Edge and central Manchester. I offer early morning and evening appointments to suit busy clients.
My therapeutic approach to psychotherapy
My therapeutic approach fuses evidence-based western psychology and eastern philosophy. While we will develop an approach that works best for you, some of the tools I’ll help you to learn will include mindfulness, self-compassion and effective communication. I draw on a number of evidence-based psychological models including, Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy [ACT], Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Positive Psychology and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).
